When I read my RSS feeds in Google reader (I do this one or two times every day), I often find blogs who writes about the RSA videos on youTube. You may have seen these too. RSA stands for "Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce" and they post videos of an artists drawing illustrations along a public speech or presentation that runs as audio in the background.
I liked these videos very much in the past, so I wanted to get them right away when they upload a new video. One method to accomplish this is to subscribe for them on youTube. But my problem is, that I don't check youTube regularly but I do check my Google Reader daily. So I looked for an RSS feed on the youTube member page but could not find one.
Ok, so I thought: "Google is doing a lot of magic, so let's give it a try". I have read lately, that you don't need to put in an RSS feed but that you can just put in the webiste URL as a source for your subscription in Reader. So this is what I did:
I went to the youTube member site for RSA: http://www.youtube.com/user/theRSAorg
I went to my Google Reader page and clicked on "Add a Subscription"

I entered the youTube member URL into the text field.
Google Reader did find the correct RSS feed for this member page. Now I have a new Subscription in my Google Reader named "Uploads by theRSAorg" which will show me new uploads from them as soon as they arrive on youTube.
