Tech and Computer Podcasts

Today I want to recommend some podcasts about computer. There are a lot of podcasts available that focus on that topic.

But first a short announcement: My buddies at "English Practice over the Internet" AKA as EPOTI-Group asked me to share my first experience in the virtual world of Second Life. So I have planned a skypecast next Saturday at 3 pm GMT in English.

If you are interested, you can come, listen and talk about Second Life and listen to my first steps in the virtual world. The link: https://skypecasts.skype.com/

But now let's go on with the podcasts:

Buzz Out Loud is a program from CNET talking about technology and computers. It is a daily podcast of 20 to 30 minutes with news about the latest computer technology.

The next one is a full collection: Leo Laporte has a full collection of podcasts about tech and computers. You can find them all on:

http://www.twit.tv

Twit is an acronym for "This week in tech". There you find a bunch of shows about Macintosh, Windows, Internet Security and other stuff. Each of these podcasts has their own RSS-Feed so that you can choose what you are interested in.

For example: FLOSS Weekly is a podcast about "Free Libre Open Source Software" is a talk with experts about Open Source Software.

"KFI Tech Guy" is a recording of a radio show where people can call in with their tech problems.

"Security Now" is a talk with Steve Gibson, a security expert, who talks about the latest development in security. It's not only internet security but also other technical issues like DRM (Digital Rights Management).

The Twit Website is a rich source for all tech-geeks but also for people who want to keep up with all the new stuff that is coming up in technology and computers.

Also a good source is "Slashdot review" it is "A 10-Minute Review of recent highlights from Slashdot, Digg and Reddit". It's just the highlights from the Internet sites Slashdot, Digg and Reddit. So if you read these already, it's not necessary to listen to this podcast.
