Some more ESL Podcasts

Here a few more suggestions from my readers and listeners about learning English with a podcast:

Just Vocabulary:

This is a daily podcast that I have subscribed before. I did not like the focus on just two words per day without further context. The author does offer some good examples to illustrate the words, but in my opinion, I can learn a new word easier if it is used in context of a story or a report. I don’t like to learn vocabulary just word by word. But that’s just my opinion, your mileage may vary.

FTD-Business English:

What I don’t like here is the enumeration of vocabulary words at the beginning. It uses a schema like English-German which makes it only useful for German users who want to learn English. Besides, I like to have words explained in one language only, so that I don’t have to switch between two languages. I believe, this is more effective in learning a language. But as I said before, this is a matter of taste, and maybe you have a different opinion. The podcast is published twice a week.

Business Spotlight

This seems to be an interesting and entertaining podcast for me. I have subscribed to this and will listen to their episodes in the future. You can listen to it every Tuesday and the episodes are about 4 minutes long.
