Today I want to recommend some more podcasts that are dedicated to learning and education. The reason for this is, that I am currently having an online course "Podcasting for Teachers" at knowschools.ca for a group of K-12 Teachers, so this might be useful for them too.
This is a link that I found in one of the German blogs that I read. It's a name generator to invent cryptic names for your web 2.0 project. Now you know, where names like flickr or zoho come from ;-)
What's really cool with this site: it can also check if the generated name is still available as domain name.
Yesterday's Talkcast was about Social Bookmarking.
Please listen to my new Webtutor-Podcast-Promo (it's a spooky one).
You can download it and freely distribute it in your own podcast or put it on your website.
Just found this blog entry about "Five ways you could use Video in Education".
Some really useful recommendations how you can use video in educational context.
As you might know, this podcast is dedicated to Internet stuff, especially web 2.0 websites and services. I did not offer my HTML video tutorials since November 2006 but I will produce some more of these in the near future. In the meanwhile I got distracted by all these life tools that you can use to talk to people in real time.
This is a report from CBS that I found on youTube. It explains a new technology where blind people can learn to see with their tongue. Amazing!
Here a few more suggestions from my readers and listeners about learning English with a podcast:
I just found this article from the "Thoughts and Experiments" blog that I find useful for beginning bloggers.
It fits good in my blog entry about my last "Talkcast on Blogging and Podcasting" that you can find here.
Today's Talkcast at www.talkshoe.com was about photo sharing.
Welcome to the Webtutor podcast. Today I will recommend some of my favorite podcasts to learn english as a second language.
The next Talkshoe talkcast will be about photo sharing:
Want to share your photos with friends, family or the whole world? There are some nice free sites on the internet like flickr.com or photobucket that you can use.
If you have questions or comments, meet me life on the talkcast at Talkshoe.com. Date: 01/18/07 Time: 2:40 pm EST (7:30 pm GMT).
I really like the idea from Nicolas Negroponte to produce low-price laptops for the developing world.
Now it seems to be possible to get these laptops as a normal customer. The only condition: you have to buy 2 and get 1 for yourself, the other one will go to the developing world.
I like this idea.
In today's talkcast I talked about blogging and podcasting in more detail. Here you will find the links that I have mentioned in the talk.

Today I recommend a podcast that I really enjoy. It's a life recording of a lecture from the Berkeley University of California named "Physics for Future Presidents. You can get the MP3-File here from blip.tv or here on odeo.com.
Here is the link to the Berkley Site:

Today I'm starting a new Category "Talkcasts" for my life shows at talkshoe.com.
I will have my first life Talkcast at talkshoe 2:30 pm EST and I will talk about internet tools (aka web 2.0).
Title: Webtutor: Internet Magic made easy
Description: You don't need to be a Magician to do magical things on the Internet. Learn more about building your own website, using Web 2.0 sites and tools or even creating your own podcast.
You need to sign up for a free account at www.talkshoe.com. After signing up, you can dial in with your PIN (a number that you choose, normally your phone number) at (724) 444-7444. The Talkcast ID is: 12267
Here is the link to the Talkshoe Description.
If you don't want to call in via telephone, you can also use a free VoIp client. Here is a description how to set this up.
I already have started a podcast on Rent-a-Tutor.com which is called "Webtutor Podcast". I'm still not sure where to host the MP3-files finally. I already upload them to odeo.com and blip.tv but maybe I will switch to another host soon. Odeo and blip.tv are free services and I wanted to try them out, just in case that I need to recommend something for my readers/listeners if they want to try out podcasting without spending money.
So you can download my last podcast-episode from 2006 here from blip.tv or here from odeo.
I just tell about my new iPod Shuffle and how I use it for learning.
